From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
No fewer than 300,000 people from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), People Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties are set to join New Nigerian Peoples Party ( NNPP) in Jigawa state.
This was confirmed by the state chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Alawo, while briefing news men on the outcomes of their caucus meeting in Dutse, the state capital.
NNPP is currently regarded as a third force in the Nigerian political arena following the decamping of fomer Kano state Governor Engr Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwso and many political bigwigs in to the party from across the country.
He said, the meeting has reviewed the reports they gathered from across the state which showed over 300,000 people are on their way to join the party.
Hon explained that, NNPP is welcoming them and promised to provide enabling environment for every member of the party to pursue his legitimate democratic right and interest in accordance with the party and Nigerian constitution.
“We will treat every party member with dignity, respect , justice, fairness and mutual equality and also promote internal democracy.
“However the party caucus called upon every person interested in joining the party to follow a proper channel for their membership registration to avoid any error that might have adverse affect on the party.”
