The major opposition political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter, has sent warning to the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), that it would resist any rigging tactics to scuttle to rotation formula on ground.
The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly (NASS), Senator Peter Nwaoboshi,at the weekend said that the people of Delta North would resist what he called ulterior motives by those who benefitted from power rotation in the state to truncate the unwritten gentleman agreement.
Senator Nwaoboshi further noted that the people of the District like their old political leaders could no longer afford to remain in opposition to the center hence his decision to pitch tent with the All Progressives Congress APC.
Senator Nwaoboshi stated this on Saturday while addressing party members at a reception organized for him at his country home by a prominent leader of the party, Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha, in Ogwashi-Uku, the administrative headquarter of Aniocha south local government area of the state.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), noted that his defection from the PDP was in the interest of this constituents whom he said he could no longer afford to watch suffer any form of political deprivation owing to opposition politics.
