Crisis brews in the Delta North Senatorial District All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Delta North over endorsement and counter endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko, for a second term.

The leadership tussle is between Dr lfeanyi Okowa, immediate past Governor and Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North senatorial district.

Trouble started at a well-attended APC stakeholders’ meeting last Saturday, at Senator Nwoko’s country home in Idumuje-Ugboko, where a vote of confidence was unanimously passed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Nwoko by party stakeholders, leaders and members loyal to the senator.

But the Forum of Delta north APC LGA Chairmen” and the “Forum of APC Ward Chairmen” in the Senatorial District loyal to Dr Okowa disowned the endorsement.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of APC in Delta North Senatorial District, Ogbueishi Adizue Eluaka, faulted the recent unauthorized publication by the so-called Forum, which attempted to discredit the endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term.

He further dissolved all party forums in the senatorial district.

In a statement released yesterday, Eluaka described the group as an “unauthorized and unconstitutional body,” stressing that its actions did not reflect the collective will or structure of the APC in Delta north.

He maintained that the party would no longer recognize any collective entities not expressly sanctioned by its constitution.

“We will not sit to watch a few disgruntled, sponsored individuals under the guise of a forum that is unknown to our constitution, cause disunity and dis affection in our party. The APC is a window of opportunity for growth, and these actions are clearly self-serving”, Eluaka declared.

To restore discipline and cohesion within the ranks, Eluaka stated that henceforth, all party dealings would be conducted directly with LGA and ward chairmen on an individual basis.

He warned that any meeting convened by the now-dissolved forums or any unsanctioned group would be deemed illegal and subject to disciplinary action.
