The police in Agbor, Delta state have arrested 21 suspected cultists over cult related wars in the areas at the weekend.
Reports said that Agbor community and its environs have been facing challenges in the recent times over the increasing activities of cult related warfare.
It was reliably gathered that at nightfall, members of various cult groups allegedly rampaged every nooks and crannies in the ancient communities during which process unsuspecting victims were caught in the web, in most cases brutalized with several injuries.
But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu disclosed that the suspects were arrested on a tip off by police detectives in Agbor during initiation of new members, adding that upon interrogation, some of the suspects admitted to be undergraduates of the state owned institutions.
He said that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation, DSP Kalu warned that it will no longer be business as usual for those who indulge in all forms of criminal activities.
Unconfirmed sources said that there have been bizarre killings of innocent persons by these rampaging cult groups.
