All is now set for the exciting Naija flavour destination, a market place to display creativity.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Olayiwola Awakan

has disclosed that this year’s Naija Flavour destination December will boost,  reflect the country’s identity, diversity, innovation, creativity, sustainability and economic driver for Nigerians.

Awakan made this disclosure at a press briefing at  the  weekend while unveiling Naija Flavour distinctions

slated for December 13, 2025 to be  in Abuja.

According to him, Abuja

is about to be served an unforgettable experience and a celebration of tourism powered by the people.

He expressed that Naija Flavour destination will also promote  Nigeria’s rich and unique culture in food, live theatre plays, music, fashion, Arts and crafts and entrepreneurial spirit.

and diversity of our

nation in Naija Flavour… Destination by December.

“Nigeria is not just a country, we are a global vibe, especially in December. Our

December has become world famous. “Detty December” a period when the world

comes to us, to taste our culture, feel our music, eat our food, wear our fashion, and

immerse themselves in the energy that makes Nigeria unforgettable”.

He explained that, “we are not just launching a

program; we are celebrating the flavours of our culture, the vibrancy of our creativity,

and the growing power of tourism as an economic driver.

The DG stressed that

we are building tourism with unity, creativity, and purpose.

“Let the flavours

travel. Let the world know that Nigeria is shaping tourism with innovation,

entertainment, and economic impact.

Speaking further,

he  stated that the

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, under

Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing on creative industry expansion, economic

growth, SME development, sustainable value

creation, jobs, and promotion of national pride.

He disclosed that all Nigerians and international tourists can get all information on NTDA website ,#NaijaFlavour

He maintained that Naija Flavour has been created in that same spirit of renewed hope Agenda to generate

wealth, empower local businesses, strengthen our creative economy, and build

a tourism experience that sustains itself and stimulates national growth.

“More than 50 SMEs will be showcased, with over 2,000 attendees expected, including visitors from the diaspora and international partners.

Speaking on security at the Naija Flavour fiesta the DG assured

that his agency is partnership with the Nigeria Police Command to ensure the safety of all attendees.

He said that  Naija Flavour will give attendees an unforgettable theatrical experience

“The NTDA will present a theatrical production

titled “Echoes of the Drums.” The drum is

not only an instrument; it is communication, identity, celebration, and a spiritual pulse

that connects generations”.

He added that “Echoes of the Drums” is written by my humble self, Ola

Awakan, directed by the renowned Isioma Williams, and produced through a strategic

NTDA collaboration with the Guild of Theatre Arts Drummers (GOTHAD).

“Together,

we are using theatre as a tool for tourism storytelling and cultural preservation.”

He said “Let the drums speak. Let the flavours rise. Let Nigeria shine.”

“Together, we are building tourism with unity, creativity, and purpose.”
