Digital Industrial Park: Kano gov urges FG to hand over facility to state govt

The Kano state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on the Minister of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani to facilitate the hand over of the NCC Digital Industrial Park in Kano to the stated government.
He made the call on Thursday while delivering a speech at the closing ceremony of the National Council on Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) meeting hosted by the state government.
“I will also seize this upportunity to make a formal request to the honorable Minister, we want you to give an order in facilitating the handing over of the NCC digital industrial park that was constructed here in Kano and abandoned.
“This is with the view to complementing the federal government in order to achieve digitization and promotion of the economy in the state.
The governor also assured the minister that the state government is determined to digitalize governance for the purpose of efficiency, transparency and accountability.
He also stated that the government has so far completely digitalized land administration and revived the Infomatic Center in the state.
In his speech, the minister revealed that the ministry had developed a strategic Blueprint which encompasses five pillars that include knowledge, policy, infrastructure, innovation, entrepreneurship and Capital (IEC) and trade.
He explained further that each pillar is integral to to the government’s mission and interconnected with others forming the foundation of it’s strategy.
“In line the mandate of the Ministry to accelerate the diversification of the Nigerian economy by enhancing productivity in critical sectors through technological innovation, we developed a Strategic Blueprint which encompasses five pillars: Knowledge, Policy, Infrastructure, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Capital (IEC) and Trade. Each pillar is integral to our mission and interconnected with others, forming the foundation of our strategy” he stated.
He explained that the government has has launched the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program with the goal of training 3 million early mid-carrier technical talents over the next four years.
