Dimgba: FRSC seeks relevant information to track driver

Date:

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, said that the Corps needs relevant information to track the driver that killed the former veteran journalist, Dimgba Igwe at the weekend in Lagos.

It would be recalled that the late Dimgba Igwe was jogging in the early hours of last Saturday close to his house when a speeding driver, knocked him down and disappeared without stopping.

FRSC in a statement issued yesterday by its Public Education Officer (PEO), Stella Uchegbu, quoted the Corps Marshal saying; “much as the Corps has directed the Lagos State Sector Commander to commence investigations to unravel the identity of the hit-and-run driver, we will most appreciate relevant information from those who witnessed the fatal crash, on other details of the vehicle such as the colour and number plate to enable us get to the root of this unfortunate matter” he said.

Oyeyemi frowned at the reckless conduct of the supposed driver as alleged and regretted that even in the face of the FRSC’s sustained drive to address the menace of reckless driving in the country, there are still recalcitrant drivers with penchant for contravening traffic rules and regulations.
