Don’t go on strike, PTD chairman beg members.

*Calls for calm over FCT crisis

The national chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), Comrade Lucky Osesua has called on his members to remain law-abiding and shelve her proposed strike ,assuring that the leadership crisis rocking the organisation shall be resolved as quickly as possible .

Petroleum Tankers Drivers is a branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

In a press conference , the national chairman of PTD mainatined that his comments first and foremost , shall as much as possible not tilt towards running in conflict with the bail conditions and agreement with the court grated him and his other executive members but to appeal to members to exercise the highest level of calmness and that the association’s objectives shall not be compromised .

The chairman pointed out that the struggle is not in any way intended at working against “the progressive and seamless policies of the administration of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces,or be an attack dog to the federal government of Nigeria”.

“We call on all national executive members both past and present bro unite and come together towards ensuring an amicable resolution and smooth peace and unity of the association to move forward. My team is ready to work with everyone and we offer an olive branch to the opposition to contribute their quota to the growth of PDT”.

He continued ,” We humbly appeal to members to be calm and loyal,law abiding ,and go about their daily businesses without fear of police harassment ,intimidation from other security agencies ,as I and my executives are working tirelessly to resolve the leadership crisis and shall always ,as usual ,carry you on board our discussions and resolutions . Again ,we appeal to you to shit your sword and not embark on a strike ,as we are working and shall resolve the leadership tussle soon.

” This is a time for the PTD to stand on its own and focus on the primary objectives of the association which are the delivery of Petroleum products to all the states and locations within the Federation. We appeal to you not to fail for the unrealistic promises from the other faction .

“It is important to say if we did not challenge the rascality those unrealistic promises would not be made”.
