A Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Known as Dpat Foundation in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has doled out scholarship to 60 school children cut across primary and junior secondary schools in Ibwa II Community.
The president of the Foundation, Mrs. Patience Ardey disclosed this while addressing the crowd during the launching of its Educational Trust Fund/Skill Acquisition Empowerment Programme in Gwagwalada on Tuesday.
Patience Ardey said the Foundation was created in 1986 to cater for the needs of the woman and vulnerable children in the society.
She pointed out that the leadership of the Foundation would continue to empower the girls in order to arrest the problem of prostitution in Gwagwalada and the FCT at large.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri who was represented by the Council’s Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Saba, pledged to support the Foundation financially to actualize its dreams for the less privileged ones in the society.
