Easter: Bishop calls for prayers to end COVID-19

The Bishop of Kaduna Diocese, Anglican Communion Rt. Rev. Timothy Yahaya, has called on all
Christians to use the Easter celebration to pray for the end of the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
He made the assertion in his Easter massage, yesterday in Kaduna.
Bishop Yahaya expressed optimism that the country would overcome the turbulent period.
He however called on Nigerians to observe all preventive measures and guidelines issued by Health workers.
The Cleric added that the lesson of Easter is that of sacrifice to the entirety of humanity and the story of hope, adding that despite the scourge of the pandemic, there is still hope for people.
The Bishop who frowned at the attitude of Nigerians towards one another said: “today, we are self – centred and too nepotistic to one another.
“ We are tribalistic and segregating against ourselves in the name of a particular variable. Easter is a unifying factor for the entire World,” he said.
While commending the efforts of the government in the fight against the spread of the disease, Revd.
Timothy further explained: “Easter is a season that signifies the victory for mankind, and we must humble ourselves before God, just as the Coronavirus has humbled all aspects of human endeavours” He said.
