The President of Ebira Tao Community Association in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Mr. Shaibu Isah Ojeba, has said that he would partner with the government agencies where necessary on the viable policies that will benefit the various categories of people.
He also said the executives would work tremendously with the committee on widows and orphans to better their lives as well uplift their status.
Ojeba, who stated this while presenting his speech during the inauguration of the executives of Ebira Tao Community Association in Gwagwalada on Sunday.
According to him,” the Ebira Tao Community Association came into existence for about thirty years ago and has been the rallying point which has brought succor to many Ebira residents as well those on transit”.
He, therefore, called on Ebira people who did not register with the association to do so in order to be remembered tomorrow.
His words: “Let me tell you that your children and grand-children will be highly disappointed that your name is consciously missing from the list of those who made history and held the community together, when a history book is compiled.
“What excuse will you give to them that will suffice for your absence in the developmental activities and projects of the community? Today, there is a window of opportunity for you to correct the oversight.
“The door is still open for you to join any association of your choice or come together to form an association of like minds or still join the Ebira Tao Community Association as honorary member after meeting the necessary required criteria”.
He, therefore, reiterated commitment to unity, oneness and progress of Ebira People in Gwagwalada Area Council, pointing out that the executives would maintain cordial relationship with the various associations through interaction as well as dialogue.
He said the executives of the association would work would work hand in hand with the Traditional Council in Gwagwalada as well as the Ebira People’s Association in the FCT for the overall development of Ebira Community.
Ojeba, however, said the executives of the association would not hesitate to parley with other tribes for the sake of peace and togetherness.
Also speaking, the outgoing President of the association, Mallam Abdulrahman Yakubu Ozigi, charged the members of Ebira Community to give their maximum support and co-operation to the incoming administration.
On his part, the electoral Chairman, Hon. Ihiezu Jamiu who also administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials of the association, urged the new officers to move the Ebira community to the next level in Gwagwalada and its environs.
“I am very grateful to Almighty Allah to have brought the election and inauguration to huge success”, Aliyu said.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chief of Ebira in Gwagwalada, Dr Abdulkareem Ibrahim who doubles as the overall Chief of Ebira in the FCT mong other Ebira personalities.
