Katsina state government has inaugurated a response committee to monitor and respond swiftly in case of any reported case of the dreaded Ebola Virus.
Inaugurating the committee, yesterday in Katsina, the deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari noted that the committee was set-up in response to the Federal Government directives for states to set-up such committee.
He added that the setting up of the committee has become necessary due to the reported cases of the dreaded disease in Lagos state, adding that a careful strategy for the control of the disease is needed to curtail its spread.
Faskari stated that the Katsina committee was made up of medical experts that are capable of handling the assignment, calling on them to be up and doing in handling the task ahead of them.
Responding, the chairman of the committee and permanent secretary of the state ministry of health, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Qabasiyyu disclosed that the symptoms of the disease include Cough, Bleeding, Headache, Fever and Sore Throat among others.
