All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Edo state House of Assembly yesterday held its plenary in the state government old Exco- chamber and impeached the suspended Deputy Speaker, Festus Ebea.

The embattled Speaker of the House, Uyi Igbe, presided over plenary attended by 15 members, excluding other PDP members of the Assembly.

Victor Edoror who defected from the PDP to APC on the floor of the house last year emerged the new Deputy Speaker.

Ebea’s impeachment followed a motion moved by Foly Ogedengbe, representing Owan East.

Ogendengbe motion was predicated on section 92(2C) of the 1999 Constitution and Section 72, Rule 19, of the Assembly.

The motion for the election of the new Deputy Speaker,who took the oath of office immediately, was seconded by Patrick Asowerien representing Orhionmwon constituency 1.

The motion for the lawmakers to relocate to Edo State Government House was occasioned by a motion of urgent public importance moved by Philip Shaibu, the Majority Leader.
