From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has urged the Muslim Ummah in the State to use the period of Ramadan fast to pray for the nation to overcome all the challenges confronting the country, especially the insecurity..
This was contained in a Ramadan message by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Jonathan Vatsa, issued in Minna yesterday.
He said the party believed that with prayers and support of all well meaning Nigerians, the present security challenges, especially in the North will come to an end.
The party therefore called on Muslims to use the period of Ramadan not to despair but have faith in God and also pray for the desired changes needed to move the state and indeed Nigeria forward from the present state.
Vatsa prayed that Allah (SWT) provides the nations the needed unity devoid of religious and other considerations and find solutions to its problems as one indivisible people.
“It is a fact that we cannot achieve much in an atmosphere of disunity and lack of peace; the Ramadan period therefore affords us the opportunity to pursue vigorously the path of peace in all we do in accordance with Islamic injunctions”.
The statement enjoined the people to pray for good leaders who will serve the interest of the people and not their own selfish interest for the good of the society as the nation move towards 2015 general elections.
The party prayed that Allah (SWT) in his infinite mercy grants all Muslim Ummah the reward and blessings therein in this holy month of Ramadan.
