Edo traffic official disrobed over drunkenness

An official of Edo State traffic Management Agency (EDSMA) simply identified as Nnamdi was yesterday derobed over alleged drunkenness.

The traffic officer was said to have consumed two bottles of beer before he resumed duty at Iyaro traffic terminal in Benin City, the Edo state capital.

Eye witnesses said Nnamdi was disrobed on order of Ms. Obi Nancy, a Senior EDSMA officer who ordered him to appear before a disciplinary committee of the Agency.

Ms. Obi Nancy accused the official of allowing his in-law, a bus driver heading for Lagos State to beat the traffic light.

Upon interrogation, Nnamdi said there was no cause for alarm, adding that his action was justified because the bus driver in particular is his in-law.
