A cross session of widows in Edo state on Wednesday converged at Peoples Democracy (PDP) secretariat in Benin City to partake in President Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo branded free rice distribution.

The women numbering about 100 prayed for smooth transition and the peaceful return of the duo in the 2015 general elections.

State chairman of PDP, Chief Dan Orbih in brief remarks, said widows in the state have not really felt the impact of Governor Adams Oshiomhole All Progressives Congress (APC) led government.

Orbih reminded Governor Oshiomhole thread on the leading opposition party with caution, declaring that power is transient.

According to him, Oshiomhole should not play God because the electorates in the state were already shelling up to vote-out the APC government.

He said the gesture to fete widows which has become an annual ritual should is born-out of humanitarian effort and not for political gain.
