Education Minister calls for team work

The Minister of Education, Alhaji Tahir Mamman, and the Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu, assumed office and called for team work to build the education sector.
Speaking, Mammam solicited support from Nigerians in order to bring about the “desired change in the education sector.”
He said, “If the education sector is fixed, every other thing will work perfectly in the country since the ministry is the foundation of all.”
While saying the expectations are huge for the sector, he noted that President Tinubu was committed to turning the tide around.
Earlier, the Minister of State, Sununu, sought for the cooperation and understanding of Nigerians, especially the ministry staff to improve the standard of education.
The Permanent Secretary pledged to cooperate with the ministers for a successful operation.
Mamman was until his appointment as minister by President Bola Tinubu the Vice-Chancellor of Baze University.
He served as the Director-General of the Nigeria Law School from 2005-2013.
Mamman who was conferred as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2015 is a recognised member of the Body of Benchers.
Born in 1954, the senior lawyer obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Ahmadu Bello University in 1983, proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1984, and earned his Masters from the University of Warwick.
Sununu, a medical doctor until his appointment, was a member of the House of Representatives.
