EFCC names administrative block after late Salisu

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has directed that an administrative building in the commission’s academy name after late Aminu Salisu, ASE11.

Salisu was callously murdered on January 17, 2025, by suspected cybercrime perpetrator, Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, while carrying out his legitimate duties.

Meanwhile, Mr Olukoyede, Saturday, mentioned that the EFCC has approved allocation of 84 units of apartments in Lekki Lagos to staff in subsidized rate, adding that
commission also approved the promotion of over 900 staff.

He expressed these in his opening remarks at the EFCC Annual Awards and Recognition, 2024 at the Commission Academy, Karu, Abuja.

Further in his speech, the EFCC Boss assured that every officers that lost their lives and fatally injured in the line of duty will not be forgotten.

Moreover, he noted that the commission have taken delivery of CNG Buses to alleviate staff transportation challenges.

Concluding he submitted that the prosecution agency is also taking steps to address the issues of insurance for staff and the general condition under which they work to ensure that their welfare is guaranteed at all time.

He expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of the staff to ensured that the Commission retains its position as the most effective anti-corruption agency in Nigeria.

“In 2024, we actually broke new grounds in terms of records of convictions and asset recovery. In future, we can look back and recall 2024 as the year our agency made history with the single largest property forfeiture and single largest arrest in an operation.

The award categories are: Sections with the highest recoveries in Zonal Directorate, Sections with the highest convictions in Zonal Directorate. Best staff in departments and Best Staff in Departments as well as Prosecution with Highest Convictions.

The Star of the award and Recognition event was Staff of the year award won by CSE Alvan Gurumnaan of the department of special duties, who won a brand new car.
