EFCC warns politicians against frivolous petitions

Date:

The Anambra Police Command, on Tuesday commended residents and the state government for their support in crime fighting and prevention during the Yuletide.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Uche Eze, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Onitsha that the support both parties gave the Police during the period was “very overwhelming”.

“For the first time in a long while, people call my office from all over the state to thank the police for the exceptional security measures.

“It is on record that there was no significant security breach along major roads or neighbourhoods during the yuletide; even till date,’’ Eze said.

He said residents of the state made use of the toll-free 122 hotline effectively, which helped the Police to easily monitor activities in the entire state simultaneously.

The police spokesman, therefore, urged members of the public to keep cooperating with the police as well as other security agencies.

“For the first time in the history of Anambra, nobody had reported burglary or people knocking on his window or door to threaten his or her peace,’’ he said. (NAN)
