…calls for prayers

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase has felicitated with Muslims Ummah as they mark the end of this year’s Ramadan fasting. and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri.
The Deputy Speaker in a message by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puna said “As we complete one of the most important religious obligation, i join the Nigerian Muslim to pray to Allah to accede to all our prayers and accept our fasting as an act of worship.
Admonishing all Muslims, Wase said “It is our hope that the important lessons of personal sacrifice, charity and self-discipline learnt during the Ramadan would not cease to be part of our ways of life in the months and years to come.
The Deputy Speaker enjoined Nigerians particularly Muslims to use the opportunity offered by the Eid-il-Fitr ceremony to pray for the end of the security challenge in the country and the peaceful and successful conduct of next year’s general elections
He noted: “Our nation is currently passing through difficult security challenge as evidenced in the spate of terrorism attacks that have claimed the lives of many innocent Nigerians. A religious event of this nature is a good opportunity for Nigerians to pray for an end to the security challenges.”
He urged Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad (SAW), by imbibing the virtues of humility, love, kindness and tolerance with a note that these are desirable attributes towards making Nigeria a great nation.
