The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah over the successful commencement of Dhul-Hajj yesterday Thursday, 25th September, 2014,saying Saturday, October 4, 2014 will mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement issued to journalists in Kaduna by Dr.Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Sultan implored the Ummah to fast the first 9 Days of the month, “most especially the Arafat Day, as recommended by Prophet (SAW) for the non-pilgrims (for those who can).
“We should also seek Allah’s forgiveness, glorify and extol Him more. This is so because of the virtues of the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, which are of immense benefits.”
“At this blessed moment, JNI rejoices with Nigerian Muslims and the world, in the celebration of this annual Eid-el-Adha vis-a-vis the accompanying historic sacrifices and the spiritual elevation therein the special act of worship. Our hope remains expiation of our sins in order to acquire the forgiveness of Allah (SWT).”
“We, therefore, use this avenue to sincerely call on the Ummah to be forgiving, eschew rancour and bitterness, be just, sincere and responsible in all undertakings. We equally call on the Ummah to be steadfast in promoting the message and virtues of Islam in this trying and challenging time of Nigerian nationhood. Thus, we should all pray for peace, stability and progress of our dear nation.
“We sincerely pray for our Muslim brethren who are currently observing this year’s pilgrimage in the Holy Land to have a hitch-free Hajj and wish them safe return back to their localities and re-union with their respective families. Eid-el-Mubarak (Happy Eid celebration) in advance.
“May Allah, the Most High accept all our sacrifices, Amin”, he said.
