Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Lere Olayinka has reacted to the outcome of the Ekiti governorship election.

Olayinka suggested that conspirators worked against the party and its flagbearer, Bisi Kolawole.

Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner.

He served as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) under Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Olayinka congratulated Oyebanji and prayed God to “give him the required wisdom to lead Ekiti better”.

In a statement on Sunday, the spokesman of ex-Governor Ayo Fayose, noted that it was time to move on.

The PDP chieftain said he would not go about ruing on what happened and what shouldn’t have happened.

“To the conspirators in Abuja, Southwest Nigeria and Ekiti, we are now on the ground together and it is only God that knows who will rise first.”

Olayinka hailed the “courage and doggedness” of Fayose, adding that “posterity will sure judge him rightly”.

He also thanked “those who stood by us and showed genuine love despite the blackmail from left, right and center.”
