Elumelu empowers 350 constituents’ with tricycle, motorcycles, others

The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has given out 107 tricycles,  148 motorcycles, 90 refrigerators and 111 generators to 350 members of his constituency to help them boost their independent lucrative enterprises.

The Minority Leader Elumelu, who disclosed this at the weekend during the formal presentation of the items, in Asaba, Delta State, represents Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency on the platform of PDP

He said that the idea of the empowerment programme was to make them small business owners who will eventually help in creating jobs and reducing poverty in their immediate communities.

According to him, empowering the people was a critical element in the effort to improve on their standard of living as well as to fight against poverty, restiveness and associated criminal tendencies, adding that, the people can only be happy and fulfilled when value is added to their lives by way of providing self-sustaining incentives to boost their productivity, to at least, enable them meet their basic needs and those of their immediate relations.

He said, ”Through the grace and mercy of God and by the mandate of the good people of Aniocha/ Oshimili, a total number of one hundred and eleven (111) electricity generating sets, ninety (90) deep freezers, one hundred and forty-eight (148) motor cycles and one hundred and seven (107) tricycles are already here, waiting for His Excellency’s blessings before they will be formally presented to these 350 beneficiaries.

Elumelu disclosed the people can only be happy and fulfilled when value is added to their lives by way of providing self-sustaining incentives to boost their productivity, to at least, enable them meet their basic needs and those of their immediate relations.
