The Emir’s son, Prince Sadiq Abbas Tafida has yesterday, emerged candidate for the just concluded PDP primary election of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal constituency.
Prince Sadiq Tafida emerged PDP candidate after all six contestants of the party who contested with him voluntarily step down for him at the primary election held in Jalingo, Monday.
Among those who withdrew from the race were, the chairman Taraba State palliative committee, Mr Sale Sa’ad, former permanent secretary bureau for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alh. Bello Yero, former Commissioner for Youth and sports, Hassan Bapa, Hon. Leah Solomon and Mr Abdullahi Baba
The chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Mohammed Danlami, while declaring the results, disclosed that, a total number of delegates across the constituency was accredited out of 96 which the total vote cast was 95, all polled for Prince Abbas.
With this development, Prince Abbas will lock horns with Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Malle who earlier emerged winner of the All Progressive Congress APC, and candidates of other political parties at the general election bill for 3rd February, 2024.
