In a major move to restore the glory of one of Nigeria’s most historic educational institutions, the Enitonna High School Alumni Association has finalized arrangements to unveil a comprehensive strategic development Masterplan.
The blueprint will be officially launched during a special Presidential Luncheon at the Enitonna High School Chapel in Borokiri, Port Harcourt.
The event is expected to draw former students from across the globe, united by a mission to “give back” to their alma mater.
Established in 1932, Enitonna High School holds the distinction of being the oldest secondary school in the former Rivers State.
National President of the Alumni Association, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, described the upcoming unveiling as a “defining moment” for the institution.
“This is more than just a plan; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the rebirth and long-term advancement of our school.
“Enitonna has produced generations of leaders and professionals. It is now our responsibility to ensure it continues to do so for future generations.”
The new Masterplan is designed to transform the school into a modern center of excellence.
The Alumni Association has identified several high-priority pillars for the intervention; massive renovation of aging school structures, integrating modern technology into the learning environment, enhancing curriculum support and student welfare, creating long-term funding and maintenance models, and ensuring students can compete on an international stage.
The theme of the event reflects the association’s goal of bridging the gap between distinguished veterans and current students.
As part of the ceremony, the association will honour prominent alumni who have achieved national distinction, including:Rt. Hon. Austin Adiele Opara- Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,
Senator Mao Ohuabunwa: Renowned politician, businessman, and public servant.
By holding the event on the school premises, the organizers hope to provide the current student body with a firsthand look at what they can achieve through discipline and academic excellence.
The Masterplan serves as a collective commitment from the alumni community to ensure that the heritage of the 94-year-old institution remains a beacon of leadership in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
