Enugu:CSOs decries low participation of women in politics

Civil Society Organisation (CSOs)in Enugu state have lamented the low participation of women in the political affairs in the State.

Recently in Enugu State, the Executive Director of TechHer, Chioma Agwuegbo said the organization envisions a society where women will have their pride of place in politics to achieve gender equality and democratic governance.

A statement made available to journalists in Abuja, on Tuesday, by the organization, noted that CSO in Enugu State has decried the erasure of women’s voices in political processes in the state.

According to the statement, explaining the essence of an expanded meeting with over 26 CSOs in Enugu, organized by TecHerNG, the Project Lead, Achenyo Ochijenu, said is“To understand the voting patterns, and influences, for women in Enugu State, and to support the excellent work the civil society organizations are already doing to signpost the needs and aspirations of women.”
