The Head of Department of Welding and Fabrication, Delta state Polytechnic Ogwashi Uku in Asaba, Engr Utu Goodluck on Sunday said that the equipment and knowledge at the department were enough to make the Institution World Class.
Engr Utu Goodluck who spoke to Journalists in Asaba, said that the department came into force in 2004, adding that it had graduated many students that are currently employers of labour across the country.
He said that the secret of the success of the department was largerly due to the commitment of the Management that has always provided the necessary support, especially funds among others.
He disclosed that the recent ranking of the Institution by webometric as one of the best Polytechnics in the country, clearly shown that the Rector, Professor ( Mrs) Stella Chiemeke has been working with a leadership styles that had brought notable achievements to the Institution.
Engr Utu Goodluck said that most of the Industrial equipment produced by the department were sold to the public to promote the Institution, adding that the Institution’s products had the highest demand from members of the Public including some universities in Nigeria.
