The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state traditional council, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has charged on the traditional title holders to always promote peaceful co-existence among their subjects as that was he only way for social economic development to be enhanced.

The royal father made the call yesterday, at his Wadata Palace, Bida, at the turbaning of the Speaker, Niger state House of assembly, Barrister Adamu Usman as Ndaalkali Nupe and the Niger state Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Mahmoud Kpako as Talban Nupe.

Yahaya noted that the two public officers that were given the title were given the title for their contribution to the socio-economic development of Nupe-land and for sustaining the desire values for community development.

Etsu Nupe insisted that anybody honoured should not see it as the climax of his or her contributions to development, but should see it as a challenge to continue to do more for the down-trodden and the less-privileged members of the society as well as the entire humanity.

He prayed for the title holders to be strengthened to continue to contribute to community development and take the society to a greater height. Etsu Abubakar emphasized the need for peace as a panacea for development.

Governor of Niger state Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, while speaking, advised those given the title to be steadfast and see their title as a way of holding to the traditional values that qualified them for the titles.
