Etsu Nupe decries multiple c’ttees for Bida Basin Devt

Date:

From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has lamented the duplication of several outstanding committees on the Bida Basin Development.
The royal father made his feeling known when he received an audience the officials of Niger state ministry of mineral resources led by the commissioner, Hon. Mudi Muhammad yesterday at his Wadata palace in Bida.
He explained that such committees amount to the delays and free flow of ideas of the policy implementation processes of the Bida Basin Hydrocarbon Development.
The traditional leader, however, advised the ministry to take absolute charge of the implementation process to avoid infiltration of ideas and reduce unnecessary bottlenecks for faster exploration.
In his remarks, the commissioner had earlier informed the Emir seeking for his royal support and assistance in the realization of the dream especially as Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has attached importance to the mineral deposits in the state.
