The All Progressives Congress (APC) Critical Stakeholders Forum in Yobe State has announced former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Malam Wali, as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Mamman Mohammed
Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, on Wednesday following the stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
Describing Wali as a seasoned technocrat, the forum said he possesses the requisite qualifications, patience, and temperament for effective leadership and governance.
He said, the group noted that the former SSG has been actively involved in various administrations in the state for many years, making him suitable to ensure continuity of the state’s development plan.
The stakeholders’ meeting, held last week, also agreed to produce the party’s candidates through a consensus mode of election and adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, and the Chairman of the State Stakeholders’ Forum, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, said the party would continue to engage in dialogue to strengthen unity within its ranks.
