Members of staff of the National Assembly under the aegis of the Parliamentary Staff in the National Assembly (PASAN) were yesterday thrown into the mood of excitement as they commence their annual celebration laced with some educational, entertainment as well as welfare issues.

The event tagged ‘2014 Pasan Maiden Week’ is of the theme “Sustainability, Efficiency and Effectiveness as pre-requisite for a healthy and robust Legislature.”

Chairman of National Assembly chapter of PASAN, Comrade Bawa Mohammed, told newsmen in Abuja that the one week event scheduled to hold between Monday, May 19th and May 23rd, 2014 is being put together with a view to re-inventing, re-invigorating and re-directing the activities of Parliamentary workers in the National Assembly to achieve maximum efficiency and welfare.

“The events will have series of educational and information activities regarding health related issues, work ethics and expectations from employees. Similarly, there shall be a novelty football match between NASS and NASC,” he disclosed.

Mohammed further explained that the highpoints of the event would be a gala night, presentation and launch of a book on the President of the Senate, David Mark and Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa.
