Expose criminals in your communities, Masari urges monarchs, religious leaders

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of katsina state has appealed to traditional and religious leaders to admonish their followers on the need to provide useful information to security agencies for enhanced security in the state.
Masari made the plea when he paid homage to the palaces of the district heads of Ingawa, Yandoma, Bindawa and Doro as part of his ongoing gubernatorial campaign tour of Daura senatorial zone.
The Governor enjoined them to also educate their people on the need to elect good leadership, which had since been exhibited by President Muhammad Buhari.
This, he said was because president Muhammad Buhari had performed creditably with resources not close to what the previous administration had in stock.
In the past, he said the problem of security was that of Boko Haram at the national level and cattle rustling in Katsina state, which had all been reduced drastically, stressing that the problem is now that of kidnappings.
Governor Masari said the problem now requires the attention of all and sundry to overcome, adding that it does not in anyway mean another security problem may not rear its ugly face in future.
He however maintained that, both government and the security agencies require the attention of the citizens through sustained prayers for divine intervention as well as provision of useful information to end kidnappings and other vices in the land.
On its part, he said laws promulgated about fifty years ago are now been reviewed, saying some of the laws on rape cases were discovered to prescribe five shillings or five months imprisonment for convicts.
He assured that, the APC administration would continue to focus attention towards improving the welfare of the down trodden in the society for enhance living conditions.
Alhaji Mukhtar Abubakar, the Uban Doman Katsina, who spoke on behalf of the two district heads in Ingawa and Alhaji Bala Duwan, the Dan Barhim of Katsina, assured that they would continue to mobilize people for peaceful coexistence to reign in the state.
They expressed gratitude to Governor Aminu Masari for involving them in the initial concept of executing projects in their domains.
The four District Heads however made series of demands to the Governor for execution during his second term in office, if re- elected.
Such projects, they said include the need for the rehabilitation of Ingawa- Yandoma- Dutsi- Shargalle road and the ongoing upgrading and repair works at Masibil Dam worth 30 Million naira for the supply of portable water to Ingawa as well as continue work on the multi million naira Dallaje Dam project.
Others, they said include Eka-Sabon Garin Gabas- Alaraini-Shibdawa-Doro road and the upgrade of Bindawa comprehensive health centre to the status of a General Hospital, as well as the provision of two new Day secondary schools in Bindawa local government among others.
