EYN Internally Displaced Person’s Camp Secondary school Malkohi has won the 2025 Chess tournament organized for secondary schools in Adamawa state.

The tournament organized by Queenvee Chess Academy in conjunction with the Nigeria School Sports Federation and sponsored by Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe of Adamawa southern Senatorial Zone saw St.Peter’s Junior Seminary school winning second position as GSS Karewa emerged third position respectively.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the tournament in Yola Tuesday, Senator Yaroe expressed his happiness for being part of  history to the young generation especially in enhancing their intellectual capacity through chess game.

Senator Yaroe said he sponsored the tournament in order to support Miss Vivian Ibrahim in her efforts to promote Chess game in the State, especially among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who needs prayers and support from all and sundry considering their predicament at a critical moment.

In his words, “Chess is a game that develops the mind, that keeps people engaged, and takes people off the street. When she (referring to Vivian Ibrahim) approached me that, she wanted to organize this tournament, and she needed support, I wholeheartedly welcomed it, and I stepped forward to sponsor the event”.
