Following the release of the 21-woman list by Super Falcons coach, Edwin Okon on Monday for the African Women Championship (AWC) in Namibia next month, Peoples Daily Sports can authoritatively report that the technical crew of the women national team is leaving nothing to chances as they have stepped up preparations not only to perform well during the championship but to reclaim their the trophy. Speaking with our correspondent in Abuja, Falcons Media Officer Gracious Akujobi said the Falcons are battle ready and will put smiles on the faces of football loving Nigerians when hostilities get underway in Namibia. Her words: “The level of preparation is high. The team is really prepared as the level of training has gone up. The players know what is at stake and they decided that they have to up their game in order to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”

“The players have resolved that Nigerians should expect nothing less than victory and the trophy as they have resolved to make themselves and country proud,”she added. The AWC will run from 11th to 25th October, 2014.
