
Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has led a state delegation to the turbaning ceremony of the Speaker of the State Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, as Dokajin Borgu, and others.
The ceremony, which was performed at the Emir of Borgu’s Palace in New Bussa, was part of a week-long series of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the Emir, Dr Mohammed Sani Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, on the throne.
Prominent personalities from all walks of life, including the Federal government delegation led by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi; the Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello; House of Representatives Members; the APC National Vice Chairman North Central, Alh. Muazu Bawa; the Niger State APC State Chairman, Alh. Aminu Musa Bobi; and other political and traditional leaders attended the colourful and glamorous event.
Other prominent sons within and outside the Borgu Emirate that were also turbaned were a retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Ahmed Tijani Mohammed, and Engineer Iliyasu Abdullahi Wara, the Director of Operations, National Hydro Power Producing Area Development Commission (NHYPPADEC), as Ubandawakin Borgu and District Head of Lumma, respectively, among others.
The farmer governor also joined other worshippers for special prayers session for the continuous success of the Emir of Borgu and the sustained peace and prosperity of the Kingdom, Niger State, and Nigeria in general.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago thereafter commissioned 2 blocks of classrooms constructed by Mohammed Sani Haliru Dantoro’s Foundation, where he commended the Emir for his unrelenting efforts towards contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Borgu Emirate.
He reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for the Emir and sustained service delivery to the people of Borgu Kingdom and all the residents of the state.
