The Ekiti state governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, yesterday described the appointment of Prince Adedayo Adeyeye as Minister of State for Works by President Goodluck Jonathan as a right step in the right direction.

Fayose who stated this through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, in Abuja said that Adeyeye, who as a journalist of long standing experience and having performed as former chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), will do well in the new position.

Fayose who described Adeyeye as a man not given to frivolity or known for disloyalty also assured the President and the Works Minister that he(Adeyeye) will not disappoint them.

Fayose went further, “I promised to stand by him, I enjoin Ekiti people, home and abroad, to stand by him so that he can succeed for Nigeria and Ekiti State, his primary constituency.

“I charged Adeyeye to have a separate telephone through which Ekiti people can reach him. He must be reachable and prepare to bear our burden as a state.

“Adeyeye should not allow politicians to come between us as politics and office come and go,” he said.

Fayose who narrowly missed the handover ceremony in Abuja on Monday said he would give every support so that Adeyeye to do Ekiti people proud.
