FCT board releases Hajj fare for 2014 pilgrimage

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) has released its approved hajj fare for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Board, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu disclosed that the maximum hajj fare this year is N813, 561.00 only, while the medium seat goes for N735, 561.00 only.

The statement added that the minimum fare this year is pegged at N698, 061.00 only

He added that, the release of the fare was as a result of the approval of the FCT minister of state, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, following the release of the hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the statement, Intending Pilgrims from the FCT for this year’s hajj have up to Friday, August 1, 2014 to balance their fare or loss seat.

Also, the spokesperson explained that the measure has become necessary to enable the board meet up with the deadline for balancing of this year’s hajj fare to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

However, the Board warned intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their completed application form and e-passport to do so before the deadline or have themselves to blame.

The statement further explained that the warning become necessary as the board would soon commence the process of acquiring visa from the Saudi Arabian embassy in Abuja.
