FCT College of Education holds 3rd combined convocation Saturday

The Provost of FCT College of Education, Zuba, Dr. Sule Mundi has disclosed that arrangements have been concluded for the 3rd combined convocation of the College this Saturday, almost five years after it held last.
Mundi, who declared that the College is fully ready for the convocation, said over a thousand graduands from 28 programmes in the College will be presented with Nigeria Certificate in Education(NCE).
Making this disclosure at the pre-convocation press briefing
yesterday, at the main Campus of the College in Zuba, Abuja, he noted that the College have not had convocation since February of 2020.
According to him: “We will be convocating 5 sets of graduates in the College during the 2024 convocation.
“The College would be convocating over a thousand graduands from 28 programmes in the College, out of which 11 best students will be honoured during the convocation.
“The main convocation is going to be on Saturday, and we are sure that FCT minister will either come as the visitor or be fully represented by the minister of state for FCT. We are fully ready.
“Before Saturday, we are going to have an academic event (Convocation lecture). We have invited an erudite and distinguished professor from Bayero University Kaduna (BUK), we believe that the college community and our guests are going to benefit from such a lecture.
“The Convocation is going to be fully attended by a lot of people because we have extend the invitation to them. We will award a few persons that have been selected.
“We are also going to award the best of our students that had graduated over the five years that we are going to be capturing for this convocation.”
Furthermore, the Provost said the management of the institution under his watch, in running its affairs has continued the development of the college so as to keep it on a steady and sustainable growth path.
“Since I resumed office in 2023, and guided by the general principle of leadership , securing lives, property, providing welfare and infrastructure.
“I believe as an institution, we have people who are providing the services, therefore it should be properly treated”, he stated.

He noted that one of the major challenges the College had was insecurity around the 300 hectares land of the School’s permanent site, which was tackled effectively with provision of perimeter fences, security gate house and security personnel, to boost safety of lives and property within its premises.
