The Abuja Municipal Chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Dr Paul Moses, on Saturday described the ongoing election as largely peaceful.

Moses spoke shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit in Abacha Estate, Zone 4, Abuja.

Voting commenced with accreditation before ballots were cast, in what observers at the unit described as orderly and calm.

As of the time of filing this report, the process was progressing smoothly, despite minor hitches.

The ADC candidate commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission for what he called a professional conduct throughout the exercise.

He, however, acknowledged slight delays caused by the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, noting that the device took time to complete accreditation in some cases.

“The process has been largely peaceful,” he said. “Though the BVAS took some time, the exercise has been well coordinated.”

Moses reiterated his commitment to providing effective leadership if elected, assuring residents of inclusive governance.

He urged voters to conduct themselves peacefully and in line with electoral guidelines, stressing the need to sustain order during the poll.
