Dr. Murtala Usman Karshi, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed why he flagged off campaign as the party’s flag-bearer  for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship, in the forthcoming FCT Area Council elections slated for February 12.

Murtala, who said he remained the authentic APC Chairmanship Candidate in AMAC in the next month’s Council Election, expressed confidence in emerging victorious at the poll.

Making this revelation during an interview with newsmen, on the sideline of the official inauguration of his campaign, he vowed to initiate projects that will improve the living standard of the people, if elected.

Commenting on the controversy trailing his candidature, Murtala said there is no cause for alarm as the case is currently before the Supreme Court.

He therefore called on the party supporters and residents of the area not to entertain any doubt, but go out there and vote for APC in the Election.

According to him, AMAC would witness a positive turnaround under his leadership if given the mandate as the council’s chair.

He advised residents of the area to come out en mass on the day of the election and cast their votes for APC for both the Chairmanship and Councillorship positions.

Also speaking, the Chairman of APC in AMAC, said the party has already submitted the name of  Honourable Murtala Usman Karshi to the Independent National Electoral Commission   INEC as the only Chairmanship Candidate of APC in AMAC.

He disclosed that the party had mapped out necessary strategies towards emerging victorious in the FCT Area Council Election.

The flag off ceremony was attended by some community leaders, APC Chieftains in AMAC and FCT as well as thousands of party faithful, who thronged the old Motor Garage in Karshi, at the weekend.
