Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Dukpa in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been known to have a solid Foundation in the sports arena, the principal of the school, Hajiya Lai Aliyu Jibrin has said.
The principal, who made this known while reading her welcome speech at the 11th annual inter-house sports competition of the school on Thursday.
She said: “it is with great pleasure I welcome you all to this memorable occasion, one of the biggest events in the history of any school system is the annual inter-house sports competition”.
Her words: “My distinguished ladies and gentlemen, permit me to say that no school is complete without the three domains of learning. In the 21th Century, the emphasis on education is on literacy skills and entrepreneurship skills.
“Presently, sportsmanship and digital literacy have taken the business of the globe, where various talents and abilities are discovered, explored and nurtured.
“Extra-Curricular activities expose students to critical thinking, team work, social intelligence, creative vision and problem solving just to mention but a few.”
