The principal of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Bello Suleiman Ajekunle, has been conferred with an award of distinguished “Astute Academia 2022” by the management of the Orator Communications Limited, the publishers of the Orator weekly newspaper based in Niger State and Abuja.

Conferring the award on the principal in Gwagwalada, the Managing Editor of the Orator weekly newspaper, Mr. Nasir Oseni said the award was bestowed on the principal based on his positive contributions to move the education to the next level in the school.

He also pointed out that the award was given to the principal in order to ginger him to do more.

Oseni, however, told the crowd that the leadership of the Orator weekly newspaper did not honour a personality based on personal interest and commended the principal for his efforts in restructuring the school for better.

In his speech at the occasion, the Gwagwalada GDSS principal, Alhaji Bello Suleiman Ajekunle who is the awardee of the day, expressed joy over the award conferred on him.

The Principal Said: “I want to express my gratitude to God and to your organization for giving me this award. I feel a deep sense of gratitude to the Editorial Board and the entire management and Board of Orator Communications Limited for the nomination. I am happy and honoured that the deciding body chose me despite all other nominees”.

He said his leadership would continue to join hands with the entire staff to give the best to the community” by bringing up diligent, responsible, reliable and well cultured students who are worthy both in character and in learning”.

Ajekunle, therefore, said the award would spur him to do more for the school as he appreciated the unique gesture.

Meanwhile, some of the staff who spoke during the award ceremony applauded principal for gearing towards the progress and development of the school in all ramifications.
