The Principal of Government Secondary School, Hajj Camp in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Abdulwahab Ibrahim has called on the PTA of the school as well as highly placed individuals to assist the school to get more sporting facilities.
Ibrahim, who made this call while reading his one-paged speech during the 9th Inter-house sports competition which took place at the school premises on Thursday, also pleaded with well-wishers of the school, as well as Philanthropists to buy many sports for the school.
According to the principal, “the importance of sports in human life cannot be over emphasized, especially now that sports have become a full blown career for many Nigerians”.
His words: “It shall be recalled that the volleyball court needs a proper face lift as it is just a make shift wooden demarcations. The school is on the right track academically. I am happy we are balancing academics with the extracurricular activities to produce a complete man. This inter-house has helped to strike the balance”.
He, however, told the gathering that it was a point of duty that every student must participate in one sporting activity in the school.
Also speaking, the Director in charge of the Co-curricular, FCT Secondary Education Board, Hajiya Fatima Gambo Baba, commended the management of GSS Hajj camp for organizing a successful Inter-house sports competition for the students.
At the end of the competition, Blue House took the 1st position, the 2nd position went to Yellow House and the Green House maintained the 3rd position.
