The leadership of FCT Igbo in Diaspora Initiatve has appointed Abuja-based Business man, Chief (Dr) Tobias Obiechina as the patron of Igbo in Diaspora in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking to our correspondent during a meeting in Abuja, the coordinator of FCT Igbo Diaspora Forum, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ochendo Ogidi-Igbo said, the organization honoured the business man with the patron ship due to his contributions towards the progress of Igbo in the FCT and beyond.
He also said the business man had touched the lives of Igbos positively in the FCT, describing the business man as a gentle man to the core.
Ogidi-Igbo called on the Igbo community to embrace Chief (Dr) Tobias Obiechina for his achievements or legacies already put in place in the territory.
Also speaking, a member of Wawa Council, Chief Ojiegbe thanked the FCT Igbo in Diaspora for the honour done to Chief (Dr) Tobias Obiechina.
Responding, the awardee of the day, Chief Obiechina lauded the FCT Igbo in Diaspora for choosing him as the Patron saying that he would continue to support the organization.
He urged the leadership of the organization to spread its tentacles to the FCT Igbos in order to know their existence in the territory.
Obiechina used the occasion to advise the Igbos to live in peace among themselves as well accord respect to the indigenes of the FCT, while calling on the Igbo Youths to emulate their elders of their good characters.
Our correspondent reports that FCT Igbo Diaspora Initiative was established since 2014.
