FCT: Police hand over illicit drugs, suspects to NDLEA

Date:

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, on Friday handed over recovered illicit drugs and arrested suspects to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), FCT Command.

The handover, according to the Command, is part of ongoing inter-agency collaboration to combat drug-related crimes and other criminal activities in the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking during the event, CP Sanusi said that while the Police have the power to investigate and prosecute drug offences, it was necessary to maintain strong synergy with sister agencies, particularly the NDLEA, which has the statutory mandate for drug-related investigations and prosecution.
