The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), through its Health and Human Services Secretariat, has unveiled three emergency medical services (EMS) ambulances, for emergency medical care services in parts of the FCT.
Unveiling the vehicles in Abuja, the Secretary for Health Secretariat (now former), Malam Adamu Abubakar Bappah, noted the increasing demand and complexity of emergency medical services in the Territory and
stressed the need to provide more measures to support quick response and service delivery.
Bappah stated that the administration was poised to meeting the demand for efficient and effective emergency medical services within the territory, in line with global standards.
He added that effective mbulance services shorten response time and reduce morbidity and mortality, thereby increasing the survivability of victims.
He disclosed that the secretariat had trained medical doctors, nurses, anesthetists and other health personnel to provide emergency healthcare services delivery both locally and internationally.
Receiving the, the FCT coordinator Emergency Medical Services, Dr Sunday Ongbabo thanked the administration for enhancing the capacity of the emergency, adding that the new ambulances would do more in providing emergency services in FCT.
