FCTA reassures enabling environment for biz to thrive

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, reassured that the administration would not relent on providing the enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the Territory.
Ohaa said the FCTA has put in place various measures to empower small, micro and medium enterprises (SMEs), through the Abuja Enterprises Agency (AEA), the Abuja Investments Company Ltd (AICL) and the Abuja Markets Management Limited (AMML).
Making this assertion yesterday at the launch of an online marketing platform, Kassuwa.com, in Abuja, Ohaa noted that the platform would make operators in the informal sector more competitive.
This, he saod would position them to take full advantage of various palliative and empowerment programmes of Pesident Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, in line with recently
announced policy of pulling 100 million Nigerians out of poverty over the next 10 years.
The Permanent Secretary therefore congratulated the AICL and the AMML for creating the platform to mobilize and mainstream the Abuja traders into global trend for business transaction.
Earlier in a welcome address, the AMML’s managing director/chief executive officer, Abubakar Usman Faruk, had noted that before now, most traders did not have online presence, because players in the industry haven’t taken upon themselves to focus on the small business owners.
Faruk opined that the Kassuwa.com platform is unique in e-commerce environment because of the large scope of products available and the unbeatable prices.
According to him, the platform was envisioned to position that hitherto ignored small business owner to become a global player and also to open up the e-commerce space-expanding the buyers’ right to choose.
He added that it enables the advertisers and other key stakeholders to communicate, partner and network for economic growth.
