The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has facilitated the induction of new desk officers across FCT schools, who are expected to be at the forefront of improving the delivery of educational services within the schools.
This move, according to stakeholders marked a milestone in the administration’s efforts to transform the FCT into a globally competitive city.
Head of Civil Service for FCTA, Dr. Samuel Atang, emphasized the new desk officers will play critical role in realizing the vision of establishing a world-class city.
He also reiterated the FCTA’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work and excellence.
He noted the success of the FCTA Annual Staff Recognition and Award Ceremony as a testament to such pledge.
Also speaking, National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli noted the importance of continuous capacity building and urged the FCT management to fully support the service improvement process in schools.
Akajemeli called for regular training and retraining of staff to ensure sustained service quality and effective management of customer experiences.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary of the FCTA Education Secretariat, Mr. Prosper Ibe, who described the induction as a milestone in the ongoing effort to elevate the quality of education in the FCT.
He therefore encouraged the desk officers to uphold the principles of accountability, transparency, courtesy, and integrity.
Earlier, the Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Funmilayo C. Kayode had highlighted the role of the inductees in advancing educational service delivery.
She linked their induction to the FCT Administration’s goal of ranking among the top 20 cities worldwide, and charged them with the responsibility of enhancing the educational framework to meet and exceed community and government expectations.
