The Federal government has raised the alarm over the loss of an estimated N120 billion in a single year to energy theft and meter tampering in the country.

The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe raised the alarm at the weekend while meeting with industrial operators on the corridor, where he reaffirmed government’s commitment to steady power supply under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Consequently, Tegbe issued a stern warning against energy theft and meter tampering, directing all stakeholders to work together on a transparent, science-based investigation to trace power losses on the 132kV Ikorodu–Sagamu corridor.
