As part of it’s Ramadan outreach to ease the burden on the poor, the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), in collaboration with the NEAR Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) are to distribute 11 kilograms worth of food packages to 300 households rendered  vulnerable due to disasters in the Territory.

The Director, NEAR Foundation, Mr. AbdulHakem Salaudeen made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to FEMD.

In an e-signed statement from Head Public Affairs, Nkechi Isa,

Salaudeen disclosed that over four thousand other  vulnerable groups in the FCT would also be reached during the Ramadan outreach.

According to him, the outreach is intended to show empathy to the poor and ensure that they have meals during Ramadan.

“ The tradition of Near Foundation is to visit our stakeholders to see how we can partner more in terms of programmes and shared values”, he said.

Responding, the Ag Director General of FEMD, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed assured on his commitment to continued collaboration with NEAR Foundation.

Abdulrahman urged public spirited Nigerian to emulate the NEAR Foundation by assisting the less privileged.
